her passing
by Cheryl Cudmore

of the bitter stream
of sorrow and tears
she drank
she drained
a pure cup of grief
and lay her down
upon the trail of trials
upon the dust of error
face upwards to eternity
back against
the cold earth
the cruel dirth
the enmity
the malicious
the mischievous
to flee its odor
all beauty bound
in hulking chains
she lay her down
her burdened life
and died today
and died forever
to this world
o glory
o self
o source
o sustainer
o qá'im
immersed
in kawthar
she dissolved
to nothing
she is no more
she is forever gone
she has overcome
